About the role#
iMentor Program Fellows serve in a leadership and professional development role supporting our 11th and 12th grade programming. You will work approximately 8-10 hours per week from October through June. This position involves helping our program managers with outreach, event preparation, and administrative tasks. You will participate in initial training in September with ongoing support throughout the year.
What you'll do#
- Support high school program managers with class preparation and pair event management.
- Assist with prepping for and supporting monthly in-person pair events, including printing and collecting materials.
- Call and text participants before and during monthly events to confirm attendance.
- Create event pages and manage participant confirmations for workshops, orientations, and mentor huddles.
- Act as a frontline support contact for participants and elevate concerns to managers as needed.
- Assist the recruitment team and help with other initiatives as they arise.
What you'll need#
- All iMentor alumni are eligible to apply. Others should have relevant experience in youth work or education.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle challenging customer service scenarios.
- Experience in customer service, retail, or youth development is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to balance multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated alignment with our mission, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to maintain discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
- Comfort working both remotely and at the iMentor office.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Compensation: $17.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Part-time, 8-10 hours per week. You must be available Tuesday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
- Requirements: Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory fingerprinting and criminal background check. All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to their start date.
