About the role#
Young Life Military offers a long-term internship for individuals interested in youth ministry at a military installation. You will work alongside an experienced staff member to serve teens, model your faith, and build a community where students can connect and grow. This role is focused on outreach and leadership development within an ecumenical environment.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with your supervisor to review ministry goals and team agendas.
- Lead and participate in Club Beyond clubs and small group sessions.
- Create a 90-day personal growth plan focused on spiritual development.
- Attend Chapel on the installation and participate in volunteer leader meetings.
- Meet weekly with a volunteer to support their involvement in the ministry.
- Learn to recruit and train new team members.
- Develop community outreach strategies to connect with unchurched teens.
- Communicate monthly updates to your personal donor partners.
- Discuss financial support and fundraising with your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- High school graduation at least two years prior to the start date.
- A deep love for Christ and a heart for teens.
- Strong initiative and an energetic approach to ministry.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- A teachable heart and a commitment to relational ministry.
- Skills in small event planning.
- Willingness to raise a portion of your budget through personal support.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Tacoma, Washington.
- The position is on-site and requires living near the community where you serve.
- This is a paid internship, though participants are responsible for raising their own financial support.
