About the role#
Young Life Military is seeking interns to serve in youth ministry leadership at U.S. military installations. You will work alongside an experienced staff person to provide outreach and support to military teens. This role focuses on building a community where teens can develop friendships and connect with others. You will lead and oversee the Club Beyond program, which is ecumenically focused and centered on Christian youth ministry.
What you'll do#
- Participate in leadership with a team to conduct Club Beyond club and small group ministry.
- Develop a 90-day personal growth plan that includes prayer, reflection, and Bible study.
- Meet weekly with supervising staff to review progress and ministry tools.
- Attend volunteer leader meetings and meet weekly with a volunteer to discuss their involvement.
- Learn to recruit and train new leaders while building a diverse leadership team.
- Assist with community outreach to unchurched teens and provide discipleship to believing teens.
- Lead and equip volunteers for middle and high school ministry.
- Communicate monthly updates with personal donor partners.
- Discuss raising financial support with your supervisor.
- Attend Chapel on installation when in the community.
What you'll need#
- High school graduation at least 2 years prior to the start of the internship.
- A deep love for Christ and for teens.
- Strong initiative and a teachable heart.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Willingness to raise part of your budget through personal support.
- Commitment to a relational ministry approach.
- Energy and experience with small event planning.
- Interest in majors such as Sociology, Psychology, Communications, or Philosophy.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Florida, United States.
- The position is on-site and requires living near the community where you serve.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with rolling start dates.
- You will be responsible for raising a portion of your salary, ranging from $1,160 to $4,000 depending on the specific location and duration of your service.
