About the role#
Young Life is seeking interns to serve in Youth Ministry Leadership at military installations. You will work alongside experienced staff to conduct Club Beyond, a ministry focused on middle and high school students. This role involves building community, providing discipleship, and modeling a personal example of faith. You will be expected to live near the community where you serve.
What you'll do#
- Participate in leadership with a team to conduct club and small group ministry.
- Develop a 90-day personal growth plan to foster your spiritual life.
- Recruit and train new volunteer leaders while building a leadership team.
- Meet weekly with supervising staff and volunteer leaders to discuss ministry goals.
- Assist with community outreach to unchurched teens and provide discipleship to believing teens.
- Lead and equip volunteers for youth ministry activities.
- Raise financial support and communicate monthly updates to your donor partners.
- Attend Chapel on the installation and participate in volunteer meetings.
What you'll need#
- High school graduation at least 2 years prior to the start date.
- A deep love for Christ and for teens.
- Strong initiative and a teachable heart.
- Ability to communicate clearly with others.
- Experience or skills in small event planning.
- Willingness to raise a portion of your budget through personal support.
- Energy and a commitment to a relational ministry approach.
- Ability to respect and engage with military culture.
Location & details#
- This internship is located in Alabama, United States.
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
- The term is rolling.
- You are responsible for raising your own financial support, ranging from $1,160 to $4,000 depending on the specific location and duration of your service.
