About the role#
This internship provides a 100-hour work experience designed to help youth explore career interests and build professional skills. You will work on projects that support YMCA programs and operations while receiving 1-on-1 coaching. This role includes training sessions and professional development workshops covering topics like resume writing, interview skills, and financial literacy.
What you'll do#
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with YMCA values and follow all policies.
- Complete duties and projects as outlined in your learning agreement.
- Participate in required training sessions and workshops.
- Communicate regularly with your supervisor to report on your progress.
- Prepare reports as needed to document your work.
- Seek and obtain feedback from your supervisor and coach to improve your skills.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You must be accepted into the YMCA Achievers Minnesota Program before applying.
- You are a high school graduate, currently in high school, or pursuing a GED.
- Ability to follow all rules, guidelines, and professional conduct standards.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A commitment to fulfill your scheduled hours.
- A willingness to learn and ask questions.

- Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
- The term is rolling based on program needs.
