About the role#
As a Health and Benefits intern, you will work alongside consultants on real client assignments. This summer internship program provides exposure to our client service teams and our financial, actuarial, and analytics functions. You will participate in twice-weekly learning and networking sessions to build your industry knowledge and professional network.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and implementation of new client strategies and solutions.
- Analyze and compare vendor products, services, and contracts.
- Perform financial analyses, including developing pricing, creating employee contribution strategies, and modeling plan design alternatives.
- Evaluate responses to surveys and vendor proposals.
- Gain specialized knowledge in areas such as pharmacy, life and disability insurance, health equity and wellbeing, vendor placement, and actuarial analytics.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human capital, human resource management, health economics, risk management, insurance, business management, marketing, finance, actuarial science, or advanced mathematics.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Prior internship or work experience showing increasing levels of responsibility, autonomy, and client service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- For actuarial students, completion of one or more actuarial exams is beneficial.
- Ability to work legally in the United States indefinitely without visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June through August).
- Modality: Hybrid. You must be local and able to commute to the San Francisco office.
- Compensation: $27 to $30 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime.
- Status: Full time, paid internship.
