About the role#
This internship focuses on administrative research and review projects related to hospital policies, procedures, and department operations. You will support the Hospital Administration team, which manages core business functions like finance, staffing, compliance, and strategic planning. The goal is to help ensure hospital departments have the resources and infrastructure required to provide patient care.
What you'll do#
- Collect and prepare data for departmental projects.
- Assist in studies that evaluate the efficiency, economy, and effectiveness of hospital operations and policies.
- Support management in the implementation of new programs and procedures.
- Perform other related administrative duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment as a junior or senior in a relevant field, such as Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Public Health, Health Policy, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Human Resources, Communications, Biology, or Chemistry.
- You must live, work, or attend college on Staten Island.
- An interest in hospital operations, project management, process improvement, financial analysis, or community outreach.
- Prior administrative experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site role based in Staten Island, NY.
- The internship runs from June 2027 through August 2027.
- This position is paid. Note that there is no stipend provided for lodging, travel, or meals.
