About the role#
As an MOA Extern, you will work under the direct supervision of a Lead or Senior Medical Assistant. Your primary focus is to assist with patient flow by preparing examination rooms and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for scheduled appointments. You will observe experienced staff as they assist patients and perform clinical tasks.
What you'll do#
- Escort patients to and from examination or procedure areas.
- Shadow senior staff members while they perform vital signs, phlebotomy, and EKGs.
- Review upcoming appointments to determine which supplies are needed.
- Set up equipment and supplies in advance of patient visits.
- Complete other related tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a Medical Assistant program.
