About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Electrical Engineering (ESSP) internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site at our Cottonwood Heights, Utah office. The program lasts 12 weeks and is scheduled to begin on May 17, 2027. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside senior staff on real projects within our Power and Energy group.
What you'll do#
- Assist in performing electrical studies and developing or troubleshooting SCADA systems for utility and industrial clients.
- Support power system planning studies including power flow and voltage stability.
- Design and configure networking and communications for SCADA and protection systems.
- Develop logic and control schemes for power system equipment.
- Prepare and program data acquisition systems and develop HMI screens.
- Assist with protective relaying, short circuit analysis, and infrastructure design studies like substation grounding.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Electrical Engineering or related undergraduate program.
- An anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
- Ability to take direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Willingness to travel on occasion and work in a project-oriented environment.
