About the role#
Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking a part-time Accounting Intern to join our team in Sanford, Florida. This paid internship offers an opportunity to gain experience in construction accounting and project support. You will work on-site and support our accounting staff with daily financial tasks and administrative duties.
What you'll do#
- Verify that transactions comply with company financial policies.
- Enter invoices and pay applications into the system for approval.
- Prepare vendor payments and remittances for mail, phone, or online processing.
- Maintain project records, including contracts and change orders.
- Analyze vendor accounts and monitor accounts payable for accuracy.
- Manage corporate credit card accounts for the division office.
- Assist with lien waiver reviews and general administrative tasks.
- Communicate with vendors, employees, and owners via phone and email.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in your work.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
