About the role#
This internship is an opportunity to work within our Data, AI, and Risk Technology, Semantic Foundation, and Enterprise Applications engineering teams. You will contribute to AI and machine learning applications, Big Data platforms, agentic systems, and Enterprise Semantic Models. You will work alongside experienced engineers and researchers to solve data engineering and platform challenges within the FinTech industry.
What you'll do#
- Develop advanced platforms, SQL queries, and tools to process, ingest, clean, enrich, and optimize data.
- Construct and test proof-of-concept AI solutions, automated scripts, and LLM implementations.
- Design and implement AI-assisted workflows to optimize production environments.
- Implement automated data-quality checks, monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities.
- Work on engineering improvements, reusable frameworks, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Partner with software engineers to build integrations connecting data and AI tools.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and documentation.
- Partner with business users to guide them on integrating data and AI tools into their workflows.
- Research new AI tools, open-source libraries, GenAI, and agentic applications.
- Brainstorm solutions and present project outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, or a related field, having completed at least your Sophomore year.
- Proficiency in coding using modern languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
- Experience with scripting, automated testing, system monitoring, and Git or GitHub.
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms, techniques, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and relational database concepts.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Hands-on exposure to Airflow, dbt, PySpark, Spark, or similar tools.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP, or other cloud-based data platforms.
- Preferred: Exposure to data quality, observability, monitoring, or platform reliability engineering.
- Preferred: Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, APIs, event-driven systems, or distributed systems.
- Preferred: Interest in GenAI, agentic applications, or semantic technologies.
- Preferred: Practical project experience via academic projects, hackathons, or personal coding projects.

- This is a full-time, paid internship.
