About the role#
As a PE Development Lab intern, you will contribute to the development of technical products and systems. You will report to the Structures & Fuel Assem Prod Design Manager at our Columbia, SC facility. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Work with a team of engineers and technicians to test and analyze the performance of new fuel designs.
- Apply engineering principles and codes such as ASME and ANSI to the design and evaluation of systems.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Help resolve technical issues for operating and new nuclear power plants.
- Support engineers in the development of calculations and reports to document design and analysis results.
- Learn new engineering topics through participation in technical seminars.
- Work with engineers within and outside of the United States.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Completed your sophomore year of college.
Location & details#
- Location: Columbia, South Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Pay: $25.40 to $29.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
- Work modality: On-site, full-time.
