About the role#
As a Linux Administrator intern, you will help ensure the stability, security, and performance of Linux servers. You will report to the Linux Services Manager and work with the IT team to handle Linux-based infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to users. This is a paid, full-time, hybrid position.
What you'll do#
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high reliability of Linux-based infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux systems.
- Automate system administrative tasks using scripting languages like Bash or Python.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Perform system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Configure network services including DNS, DHCP, and LDAP.
- Recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in information systems or Computer Science.
- Completed your sophomore year of college.
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems such as Ubuntu, SLES, or Red Hat.
- Ability to work with the Linux command-line interface and shell scripting.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies like VMware or KVM.

- Location: Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $25.40 to $29.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
