About the role#
This internship with the Virginia Department of Transportation offers a paid summer work experience for students. What you'll do#
- Provide administrative support services to assigned program areas.
- Research and compile data to prepare reports or presentations.
- Recommend resolutions to business or administrative problems.
- Take responsibility for special projects and assignments.
- Prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in an Associate’s degree program or higher.
- Status as at least a rising sophomore.
- Age 18 or older by the start of employment.
- Knowledge of business principles, procedures, and office practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Access.
- Ability to analyze data, interpret policies, and communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Background in Business, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Status: Full-time, paid, hourly wage position.
- Note: This position cannot exceed 1500 hours over the wage employment year and does not include health insurance, retirement, or paid leave. All positions require pre-employment screenings, including a criminal history background check, DMV record check, and drug screen.
