About the role#
The City of Lawrence is hiring a part-time Public Transportation Intern to work at Central Station. This is a temporary position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 12 PM.
What you'll do#
- Manage customer service interactions by phone, email, and at the front desk.
- Log complaints and track customer service responses.
- Use online dashboards to monitor bus locations and resolve rider issues.
- Collaborate with the team to escalate and address complex problems.
What you'll need#
- Completion of twelfth grade.
- One to two years of clerical work experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel for spreadsheet management.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain a service-oriented attitude.
- Familiarity with Lawrence Transit services and map reading is preferred.

- This role is based on-site in Lawrence, Kansas.
- Candidates must pass a background check, a post-offer physical, and a drug screen.
