About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring for a Claims Representative Internship in Greenville, South Carolina. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site as you gain experience in the insurance industry.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims and assemble facts to determine policy coverage.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and analyze legal liability to pay or deny claims.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your knowledge.
- Manage investigations through phone, mail, and on-site visits.
- Ensure all claim payments are accurate and issued on time.
- Support the needs of policyholders and agents.
- Work toward claim resolution, which may include attending depositions, arbitrations, mediations, or trials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Economics, or Finance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data while handling multiple assignments.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to resolve complex issues.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
