About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity for college students to gain experience in human resources within the retail apparel industry. The role focuses on supporting field HR operations, recruitment, and administrative tasks while working directly with retail store teams. This is an unpaid, for-credit internship requiring documentation from your academic institution.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate communications and engagement initiatives for retail store teams.
- Support employee relations, including compliance monitoring and the onboarding and offboarding lifecycle.
- Gather and synthesize feedback from the field to support the store team experience.
- Assist with the recruitment process by drafting job descriptions, reviewing resumes, conducting phone screens, and performing reference and background checks.
- Maintain employee records and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Manage the HR inbox to provide professional responses to employee inquiries.
- Contribute to ongoing HR projects, including engagement surveys and culture-building efforts.
- Provide administrative support to HR sub-teams such as Benefits, HRIS, and Payroll.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or Communications.
- Passion for the vineyard vines brand and an interest in the retail industry.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential company materials.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and make decisions effectively.
Location & details#
- Location: Stamford, Connecticut.
- Modality: On-site, two days per week.
- Term: Fall 2026, up to 15 weeks.
- Schedule: Maximum of 20 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility to accommodate academic commitments.
