About the role#
As a Finance Process Automation & AI Intern, you will help identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort within the Finance division. You will work alongside Finance professionals and the AI Centre of Excellence to support process improvement, automation pilots, and digital transformation efforts. This role reports to the Director of Finance Initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Identify routine or manual processes that may benefit from automation or redesign.
- Document current workflows, pain points, and business requirements.
- Research and explore practical uses of AI and automation tools.
- Assist with developing, testing, and refining automation solutions and proof-of-concept tools.
- Prepare process documentation, presentations, and status updates for stakeholders.
- Organize and analyze information to help evaluate potential improvements.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions with Finance and business partners.
- Support user testing for new processes and AI-enabled tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Data Analytics, Business Technology Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Eligibility for a co-op, internship, or work-integrated learning opportunity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, 4-month internship based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
- The role follows a hybrid work arrangement, though you will be expected on-site for events and business demands.
- This position is paid at $27.85 per hour.
