About the role#
As a Process Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving fermentation, recovery, and formulation processes. You will work with production engineers and research scientists to assess the feasibility of new methods. This role involves lab work to optimize processes and documenting experiments using good laboratory practices. You will also manage project charters, protocols, and final method transfer reports.
What you'll do#
- Track and trend yield and quality data for each batch to identify special cause variation.
- Analyze production data to recommend lean manufacturing projects.
- Write, update, and maintain production master batch records and standard operating procedures.
- Assist the production team with troubleshooting and root cause analysis investigations.
- Develop and implement creative solutions to improve fermentation, recovery, and formulation processes.
- Support and comply with all safety and environmental training policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for bioengineering, biotechnology, biochemical engineering, biology, chemical engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary, diverse team.
- Flexibility to work limited off-shift and weekend hours to support production shifts.
- Strong computer skills.
