About the role#
This internship provides a rotation through key functions within the Upbound accounting organization, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, tax, and internal audit. You will gain experience with general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, income taxes, and audit reviews while working on projects that support the wider team.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger by compiling and analyzing data.
- Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly financial closing procedures.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports for external SEC filings.
- Support the preparation of income tax returns and quarterly provision calculations.
- Help with audit reviews and SOX control process validation.
- Work on ad hoc financial reporting and accounting projects.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing an accounting degree.
- Your expected graduation date is between May 2027 and May 2028.
- You possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You are authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The program runs from May 25 to July 30, 2027.
- Work is on-site at our home office in Plano, Texas, Monday through Friday.
