About the role#
The Accountant Intern supports the team with daily accounting functions to help reach departmental goals. You will work on-site in San Antonio to ensure financial statements are accurate and follow standard accounting practices. This role requires occasional travel to contract sites across nine states.
What you'll do#
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Develop division budgets and create management reports.
- Maintain fixed asset listings and depreciation records.
- Prepare and maintain month-end schedules.
- Record journal entries.
- Support project managers and staff with training and guidance.
- Assist with regulatory and financial audits.
- Follow internal financial policies.
- Help with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors degree program in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and the rest of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly, manage your time, and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of GAAP is preferred.
- Experience with Sage Intaact or similar software is a plus.
- Familiarity with Federal Contracting or Service Contract Labor Standards is helpful.
