About the role#
KPMG US is hiring an Audit Intern for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Audit and Assurance team to support financial statement audits. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and reliability of client financial information while you develop your professional skills in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Conduct financial statement audits to help ensure the accuracy of client financial information.
- Prepare clear and well-structured audit documentation regarding client processes and systems.
- Execute and document testing of client controls and financial statement account balances.
- Use technology and data analysis tools, such as AI, Excel, Alteryx, SQL, and Power BI, to support a data-driven audit.
- Develop an understanding of client-specific risks by reviewing financial results and business trends.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor of Accountancy, Master of Accountancy, or equivalent program.
- Completion of at least one college-level accounting course at the time of application.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without employment-based sponsorship.
- Coursework or a minor in information systems, computer science, or data analytics is preferred.
- Ability to reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office.

- This internship is based in Nashville, Tennessee.
- The position is full-time and paid.
- The work modality is hybrid, with an expectation to work in-person at a KPMG office or client site an average of three days per week.
