About the role#

The Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory (WSVL) is seeking a Student Employee to assist with daily diagnostic operations. This position provides hands-on training in a laboratory setting, preparing students for future professional programs, graduate school, or laboratory careers. This is a paid, part-time position for Summer 2026.

What you'll do#

Student employees support diagnostic laboratory efforts by performing the following tasks, depending on the specific laboratory section:

• Collect and accession samples.
• Perform sample setups.
• Conduct diagnostic laboratory testing.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a student at the University of Wyoming.
• Majors in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Chemistry are preferred.
• Willingness to learn and strong attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety and biosafety protocols.
• Previous laboratory experience is preferred.

Location & details#

• This role is located on-site in Laramie, Wyoming.
• Work is performed on-campus at the university facility.
