About the role#
The Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory (WSVL) is seeking a Student Employee to assist with daily diagnostic operations. This position provides hands-on training in a laboratory setting, preparing students for future professional programs, graduate school, or laboratory careers. This is a paid, part-time position for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
Student employees support diagnostic laboratory efforts by performing the following tasks, depending on the specific laboratory section:
- Collect and accession samples.
- Perform sample setups.
- Conduct diagnostic laboratory testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the University of Wyoming.
- Majors in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Chemistry are preferred.
- Willingness to learn and strong attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety and biosafety protocols.
- Previous laboratory experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is located on-site in Laramie, Wyoming.
- Work is performed on-campus at the university facility.
