About the role#
This internship provides practical experience in an engineering office. You will support the planning, design, and execution of construction and remodeling projects on campus. This is a paid, part-time position that offers exposure to project coordination and budget management.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the coordination and management of construction and remodeling projects from initial estimate through project completion.
- Support project management within designated budgets, typically ranging from $500 to $50,000, and obtain authorization for any budget adjustments.
- Collaborate with Facilities Construction and Utilities Management teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with university standards.
- Maintain project documentation, including drawings, schedules, and status reports.
- Conduct site visits to verify construction progress and document existing conditions.
- Use software tools like AutoCAD or Revit to create or update project drawings and models.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current University of Wyoming student.
- Prior coursework, projects, or work experience in engineering or project management is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
- Majors in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Industrial Engineering are relevant to this role.
