About the role#
The University of Virginia School of Law is hiring graduate students to serve as exam assistants for the Winter 2027 term. You will support the Student Records Office by proctoring final exams to ensure a secure and fair testing environment. This is a paid, part-time, on-site role.
What you'll do#
- Monitor exam rooms to enforce testing rules, such as restrictions on electronic devices.
- Document any irregularities with Student Records Office personnel.
- Distribute exam materials following Law School protocols.
- Review exam rooms before testing begins to ensure they are ready.
- Organize and maintain exam questions and student information in a secure environment.
- Provide support to students and Law School personnel while maintaining confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree and current registration as a UVA graduate student.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to exercise good judgment in sensitive situations.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- The ability to remain attentive for extended periods.
- Availability to work at least a five-hour shift on the days you are scheduled.
Location & details#
- Location: Charlottesville, Virginia.
- Schedule: Exams occur weekdays from April 27 through May 8, between 8:00am and 6:00pm. A mandatory training session is held the week of April 20.
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
