About the role#
The Associate Director of Development for Student and Campus Experience is a senior fundraising position within the Alumni Affairs and Development department. You will secure philanthropic support for programs that drive student success and positive campus experiences. Reporting to the Director of Major Gift Advancement, you will partner with the Provost and Vice President (Academic) and the Vice Provost (Student Affairs) to align donor interests with university priorities.
What you'll do#
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors focused on student well-being and academic success.
- Develop and implement a long-term fundraising strategy for Student and Campus Experience initiatives.
- Build a planned giving pipeline in coordination with the Planned Gift team.
- Support staff in the student wellness portfolio to implement gift agreements.
- Collaborate with team members to execute projects outlined in the university strategic plan.
What you'll need#
- 6-9 years of experience in university or public sector fundraising with a proven record of securing principal and major gifts.
- An undergraduate degree. A CFRE designation is preferred.
- Experience leading and managing team members, volunteers, and senior staff.
- Ability to engage senior leadership across various sectors at a strategic level.
- Strong strategic planning, people management, and administrative skills.
- Experience managing personnel with diverse requirements, including unionized and professional staff.
- Ability to manage competing project requirements and complex, overlapping processes.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Background in public relations, communications, and alumni relations.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position based in Guelph, Ontario.
- The role requires a flexible work arrangement involving both remote and on-site work at the Guelph campus.
