About the role#
This position is a part-time, temporary student assistant role within the Office of the Lead Advisor for Complete Streets. You will work under the supervision of a Senior Transportation Planner to support ongoing initiatives related to California transportation policies. This role offers the opportunity to gain professional experience within a large public agency.
What you'll do#
- Collect, organize, and prepare materials for the externally facing Complete Streets Hub.
- Perform GIS mapping, spatial data entry, and analysis.
- Prepare reports, meeting materials, and various communication pieces.
- Create and update graphics, icons, and other visual materials.
- Support content updates, quality reviews, and general website maintenance.
- Track program progress through dashboards, data logs, and status reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited university.
- A declared major in Political Science, Urban Planning, or related fields.
- A minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct research and manage time effectively.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid position based in Sacramento, California.
- You must reside in California and perform all work within the state.
- The role is part-time, with a pay range of $18.27 to $24.62 per hour.
- Work hours are flexible, Monday through Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM.
