About the role#
The Student Employee supports the daily operations and goals of the Native American Social Work Student Institute. You report to the Director and work alongside the Administrative Assistant. This role offers opportunities for leadership and professional development. You will work in a mix of remote, office, and community settings across New Mexico.
What you'll do#
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and greet visitors.
- Manage documents, schedule meetings, and handle data entry.
- Help organize recruitment events, trainings, and meetings.
- Assist with logistics like room reservations and catering.
- Support the Native American Social Work Student club.
- Provide resources and support to students.
- Collect literature from databases and journals to assist with research.
- Take notes at meetings and maintain organized records.
- Keep your workspace clean.
- Attend professional trainings and conferences.
What you'll need#
- Active communication skills.
- You must be accessible during your scheduled work hours.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive hand motions.
- Ability to kneel, bend, climb, and stoop.
- Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds.
- A valid driver's license for the State of New Mexico.
- Current enrollment in Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, History, or Political Science programs.
