About the role#
The WELL at Sacramento State is hiring six student assistants to join the recreation operations team. This is a part-time, on-site role for current students. You will help manage the fitness and recreation areas while providing support to members and staff.
What you'll do#
- Act as the first point of contact at service desks, answering questions and assisting members.
- Conduct walkthroughs to monitor equipment use and ensure safety policies are followed.
- Manage equipment inventory, including checking items in and out and keeping them clean.
- Support facility maintenance by organizing weight room accessories and handling laundry.
- Assist with program registration, merchandise sales, and scheduling personal training sessions.
- Respond to injuries or emergencies and complete accurate incident reports.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of special events and programming.
What you'll need#
- A desire to work in recreation and contribute to a team.
- Ability to communicate clearly with staff and the public.
- Skill in managing multiple tasks and working in a busy environment.
- Must be a Sacramento State student enrolled in at least nine units for undergraduates or six units for graduate students.
- A minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Pay: $17.15 per hour.
- Schedule: Shifts are available Monday through Saturday. You must be able to work at least two shifts per week, including potential nights, early mornings, and weekends. Students generally work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year.
