About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a Student Assistant for a 3-month term within the Sacramento County Department of Technology. You will work directly with the Data Management Unit to support senior IT staff. This role focuses on building dashboards, developing internal applications, and managing data solutions. You will receive mentorship from IT professionals while gaining experience with enterprise-level tools.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards and internal applications.
- Work with data from multiple sources to support Power BI and other reporting tools.
- Participate in coding, testing, and documentation activities.
- Help troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing applications.
- Contribute to team meetings, project planning, and technical discussions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of minimum unit requirements for your student classification.
- Experience with data and BI tools such as Power BI, SQL, or Spark.
- Proficiency in programming languages like C#, Python, or .NET.
- Familiarity with development environments including Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and solve problems.
Location & details#
- Location: Rancho Cordova, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Hours: Up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours during breaks.
- Employment Status: Part-time, temporary, and non-benefited.
