About the role#
The Department of State Hospitals is hiring two student assistants to support the Health Care Provider Network. This role involves working with staff on projects related to the administration of outside medical services for patients. You will gain experience in healthcare operations and state government while building analytical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Perform medical provider outreach and review medical claims.
- Manage data entry, analysis, and Excel tracking.
- Conduct research to support program activities.
- Update SharePoint and intranet content.
- Assist with administrative tasks like meeting agendas, minutes, and timesheet processing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant coursework in fields such as Business Administration, Public Health, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Computer Science, or Psychology.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment type: Part-time, temporary, non-benefited.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. You may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours during breaks.
- Compensation: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.
