About the role#
The Health Systems Strategy & Optimization Intern will support strategic initiatives focused on contract performance, member value, and growth across McKesson's GPO and health system partnerships. This is a paid, full-time, 10-week summer internship. You will work with leadership to analyze data, support business initiatives, and contribute to projects that drive value for healthcare providers and industry partners. The program includes networking, access to executives, and structured coaching.
What you'll do#
- Gather, organize, and analyze healthcare utilization, purchasing, and contract performance data.
- Perform market research and competitive assessments within the healthcare, GPO, and biopharma industries.
- Evaluate contract performance metrics to identify opportunities for improved member participation and outcomes.
- Develop business cases and supporting materials for growth initiatives and member engagement strategies.
- Create executive-ready presentations, summary reports, and business updates.
- Translate analytical findings into clear insights and present recommendations to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, Public Health, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into meaningful insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
