About the role#
McKesson is seeking a Pharmaceutical Distribution Developer Intern to help build and improve our pharmaceutical distribution systems. This position offers hands-on experience in the healthcare logistics industry. You will work with experienced teams to develop software solutions and learn industry-standard development practices.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of software applications for pharmaceutical distribution logistics.
- Work with senior developers and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to maintain application quality.
- Create and update documentation for software designs, processes, and user manuals.
- Research new technologies and methodologies to improve existing systems.
- Support the maintenance and optimization of current software.
- Apply best practices in software development, including agile methodologies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of software development principles and programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Familiarity with database concepts and SQL.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, as this role supports clients outside of Quebec and in the United States.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- A strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Prior internship experience or personal software development projects are considered a plus.
