About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a Student Assistant for the Healthcare Analytics Branch within the Department of Health Care Access and Information. This role supports the collection, management, and analysis of healthcare data. This is a part-time, temporary position that operates on a hybrid schedule.
What you'll do#
- Collect and compile cardiovascular clinical data from hospitals across California.
- Review patient medical records to identify and code risk factors accurately.
- Update documents to ensure they meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility standards.
- Manage and organize physical and electronic files.
- Provide administrative support by coordinating tasks and maintaining records.
- Perform data entry and ensure information remains consistent.
- Support data analysis by identifying trends and preparing summaries.
- Create reports, materials, and presentations for program activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an institution on our affiliation list.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least four-semester units or six quarter units.
- Majors accepted include Nursing, Health Science, Health Informatics, Public Health, Biological Sciences, Economics, Gerontology, Mathematics and Statistics, Natural Sciences, Physical Science, Pharmacology, or Public Policy and Administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- A professional demeanor with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to new processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat are preferred.
Location & details#
- The position is based in Sacramento, California.
- Work is performed in a hybrid environment.
- You must reside in California throughout the course of employment.
- Work hours are flexible between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Students generally work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks.
