About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring an Engineering Student Assistant to support transportation improvement projects. You will work under the supervision of a Senior Transportation Electrical Engineer to gain hands-on experience in construction contract administration. This position involves both office work and field site visits. You will work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during school breaks.
What you'll do#
- Inspect jobsites and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Prepare daily reports regarding contractor activities.
- Assist in preparing monthly progress pay estimates.
- Process and file project records using the Falcon electronic system.
- Attend tailgate safety meetings.
- Learn to interpret project plans, contract special provisions, and standard specifications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an Electrical Engineering student.
- Minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Enrollment in at least six semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduates.
- Ability to use computers, scanners, and copiers for data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to pass required pre-employment background checks.
Location & details#
- Location: Los Angeles, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Compensation: $18.28 to $28.16 per hour.
- Requirements: You must reside in California, and all work must be performed within the state.
