About the role#
The Investment Banking & Global Capital Markets Strats Summer Associate program is a 10-week, in-person internship based in New York. You will join either the Investment Banking Division or the Global Capital Markets group. This role combines financial engineering, mathematical modeling, and computer science to perform quantitative analysis on capital markets transactions and hedging strategies. You will receive training on proprietary analytical tools and gain exposure to the firm through mentorship and regular sessions with internal representatives.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain data-driven analytics and financial models to advise clients on strategic needs.
- Analyze transaction data, client behavior, and market activity to support M&A, IPO, and capital raising pitches.
- Collaborate with sector coverage, sponsor coverage, and M&A teams to provide differentiated analysis.
- Develop and maintain business reporting solutions for senior management.
- Build dashboards and tools for bankers, including pipelines for ingesting and cleaning financial datasets.
What you'll need#
- You are a graduate student in a quantitative discipline such as Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Economics.
- You are scheduled to complete your degree between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Strong quantitative skills and programming ability in a major language.
- Working knowledge of Q/KDB, Python, Java, or Scala.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
