About the role#
This Nurse Extern position is based in the intermediate care unit in Searcy, Arkansas. You will work 6p-6a night shifts every other weekend. This is a full-time, paid position that does not require a post-graduation service commitment. This is a safety-sensitive role, and active use of medical marijuana is prohibited.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of an RN or LPN.
- Support patients with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, nutrition, and elimination needs.
- Implement components of the care plan, including mental, spiritual, and social needs.
- Perform comfort and safety measures as well as skilled procedures when delegated by a licensed nurse.
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free environment for patients.
- Assist with clerical tasks and supply maintenance.
- Follow all infection control and safety guidelines while supporting the mission and values of the organization.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited LPN nursing program, having completed at least the first semester of coursework.
- A current BLS certification.
- A completed nursing skills checklist provided by your nursing instructor.
- A recommendation from your nursing faculty.
- Previous experience as a nursing assistant is preferred but not required.
