Service Technician Intern– Flooring Solutions

About the role#

As a Service Technician Intern for Flooring Solutions, you will gain hands-on experience with the equipment United Rentals provides. This role is designed to prepare you for future full-time service technician positions upon the completion of your degree or certification. You will work alongside experienced mechanics to support daily branch operations and ensure high-quality service for our customers.

What you'll do#

• Learn the various types of equipment available for rent and their specific applications.
• Perform manual labor and maintenance tasks to support branch operations.
• Provide direct assistance to seasoned mechanics during equipment service and repair.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to support the branch's daily needs.
• Develop your technical skills with the goal of transitioning into a permanent service technician role.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or GED.
• Currently pursuing a technical degree or certification in a field such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with foundational knowledge of tools and equipment.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Self-motivated, driven, and capable of working with a sense of urgency.
• Strong teamwork, verbal, and written communication skills.
