About the role#
Tyson Foods is hiring a Research and Development Intern for a year-round, part-time position. This role offers hands-on experience in food and beverage manufacturing. You will support food scientists and technicians while working on projects that contribute to the business. The program aims to prepare interns for potential full-time roles after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Support food scientists and technicians with daily project execution.
- Manage data collection, data entry, product evaluations, and the preparation of hand samples.
- Assist with pilot plant and production plant trials.
- Follow both verbal and written instructions to complete tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders on various projects.

What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, master’s, or Doctorate program with at least one year of school remaining.
- Good academic standing.
- Preference for majors in Food Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, or Business.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Excel, along with familiarity with Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively as a self-starter.
- Previous work experience is preferred, as is prior exposure to R&D or Food Science.
- Your resume must include your expected graduation date and area of study.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Springdale, Arkansas.
- You must live within 60 miles of the facility to commute.
- The role is on-site and part-time.
- You must be available to work 40 hours per week during the summer and up to 25 hours per week during the school year.
