About the role#
The Auditor Development Program is a 12-18 month experience designed for those early in their careers to learn the foundations of internal audit. This program is exclusively for 2026 Truist interns. You will work within Truist Audit Services to gain experience in risk management and control processes.
What you'll do#
- Build internal audit skills through a structured framework.
- Prepare for client interviews and document results using narratives, flowcharts, and process maps.
- Analyze process documentation to evaluate how effective and efficient controls are.
- Execute testing strategies as directed by the Engagement Manager.
- Identify internal control weaknesses and communicate these findings to your manager.
- Learn about the organization, operations, and policies, including relevant banking laws.
- Receive and apply constructive feedback to your work assignments.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to grasp underlying concepts within complex information.
- Good decision-making skills.
- Aptitude for learning analytical, audit, and facilitation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- This is a full-time, paid position.
- Locations: Charlotte, North Carolina or Atlanta, Georgia.
- Work modality: On-site.
