About the role#
As a Software Development Engineering Intern, you will join a team focused on digital and control solutions for HVAC and Building Automation Systems. You will work alongside senior engineers to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Write and maintain code using Python, C++, or JavaScript.
- Develop new features for controls, digital platforms, and service tools with guidance from senior developers.
- Debug and resolve technical issues across the software development lifecycle.
- Write automated unit tests to ensure high code quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Hardware, UX/UI, and QA.
- Present a capstone project to engineering leadership at the end of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Hands-on experience with at least one programming language from coursework or personal projects.
- Basic familiarity with version control systems like Git and GitHub.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working within a team.
Location & details#
- Location: White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
- Work Modality: Hybrid. You will work onsite Monday through Thursday, with the option to choose your work location on Fridays.
- Term: Rolling.
