About the role#
As a Controls Technician Intern, you will participate in a 12-week program designed to build your technical, business, and leadership skills. You will work on construction projects and gain direct insight into a career in building automation. This role is full-time and provides hands-on experience in the field.
What you'll do#
- Support project execution by working alongside a Project Manager to meet objectives within budget and time constraints.
- Collaborate with the engineering team on programming and material selection.
- Perform controls startup activities on active construction sites.
- Create graphic programming for customer control systems.
- Assist senior technicians with the configuration and programming of Trane controllers.
- Provide direction and support to electrical subcontractors during control installations.
- Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and owners regarding project scope, performance, and close-out.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Building Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Management, or Construction Management.
- Knowledge of construction management processes and methods.
- U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.
- A valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months.
- Ability to provide proof of insurance.
- A clean driving record with no major or frequent traffic violations in the last 3 years.
