About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience with the Toyota Center Arena Marketing team. You will support concerts, live entertainment, and special events at the venue. This position is separate from the Houston Rockets internship program.
What you'll do#
- Support marketing efforts for all concerts and events.
- Manage the website, including creating event pages and handling promotional maintenance.
- Oversee venue signage and marketing assets.
- Handle grassroots marketing, such as event calendar listings, community activations, and external promotions.
- Create graphics using Canva or Photoshop for flyers, signage, and internal needs.
- Assist with media relations, artist gifting, back of house activations, and event-day duties.
- Support the Arena Marketing Manager with social media tasks.
- Assist the Director of Arena Marketing with advertising, public relations, and other assigned projects.
- Help with Houston Rockets cross-promotional efforts and provide gameday support.
- Provide general operational support to the department.
What you'll need#
- Eagerness to learn about the event marketing industry.
- A flexible schedule with availability to work nights, weekends, long days, and holidays.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop or Canva.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with all social media platforms.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and move items for departmental needs.

About Toyota Center
Toyota Center is a live entertainment venue located in Houston, Texas. It opened in 2003 and spans six city blocks. The facility serves as the home arena for the Houston Rockets and hosts various concerts, sports events, and performances. A renovation project is currently in progress with an expected completion date in 2027.
