About the role#
The Town of Caledon is offering a co-op placement for a high school student interested in Business Administration, Recreation, or Leisure. This program helps you meet graduation requirements by providing hands-on work experience within the Community Facilities division.
What you'll do#
- Support the coordinator with administrative tasks like data entry, filing, scanning training records, and monitoring the general inbox.
- Assist with records management, cataloging vendor lists, and organizing general supplies.
- Manage inventory and prepare stores order forms.
- Help with special events by setting up and taking down room rentals.
- Perform maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning washrooms, emptying trash, litter picking, and washing windows.
- Answer phones and assist with general office inquiries.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in an accredited secondary institution.
- Active enrollment in a co-op credit course.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suites and Teams.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in sensitive environments.
- Your own form of transportation.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, on-site position based at the Caledon East Community Complex.
- You may occasionally travel to neighboring facilities or external meetings.
- The role involves physical activity, including lifting up to 15 lbs, and requires wearing personal protective equipment such as green patch footwear.
- You may encounter stressful or emotionally charged situations in this environment.
- This position requires a satisfactory criminal record check.
