    About the role#

    The Emergency Management team within Human Resources is looking for a student to support business continuity and emergency management data analysis. This role involves using technology to improve data collection and helping with public education and training programs. You will work in a hybrid environment, spending three days in the office and two days working remotely.

    What you'll do#

    • Use Microsoft Office and other systems to support business continuity and data analysis.
    • Review and analyze assessment data for all Regional divisions to identify priorities for people, places, and technology.
    • Create training materials and documentation related to business continuity data.
    • Maintain accurate records of incidents, outcomes, and technological processes.
    • Participate in collaborative meetings with Regional divisions to review data analysis.
    • Assist in developing emergency management public education and training programs.
    • Support the team by preparing for meetings, including booking rooms and preparing agendas.
    • Undertake specific projects as directed by the team.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a college, university, or master’s program in engineering, information technology, business, finance, computer science, project management, or emergency management.
    • Status as a full-time student, or intent to return to full-time studies in the next academic term.
    • Technical proficiency with systems and tools, specifically Excel and reporting software like PowerBI.
    • Strong analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to handle confidential material with discretion.
    • Good time management, organization, and communication skills.
    • Ability to travel within the Waterloo Region.
    • Knowledge of business continuity planning and relevant legislation.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Kitchener, Ontario.
    • Work Modality: Hybrid (three days in office, two days remote).
    • Contract Length: 3 months.
    • Hours: 35 hours per week.
