About the role#
The Region of Waterloo is hiring an Airport Operations Assistant for a 4-month student term. This position is based on-site at the Airport Operations Centre in Woolwich, Ontario. You will support the regulatory and operational functions of the airport.
What you'll do#
- Update course materials and assist with training programs.
- Coordinate schedules, plans, and checklists for safety management system audits.
- Manage and track airfield assets within the GIS system.
- Handle aeronautical noise complaints from the public.
- Distribute and update operational plans and manuals.
- Maintain operational records and statistics.
- Participate in various committees.
- Assist with airport tours and marketing events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrolment in a related college or university program as a full-time student.
- A valid Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Certificate.
- Knowledge of Canadian aviation regulations and relevant legislation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to read, review, and update technical documents.
- Strong communication skills to handle public inquiries and team collaboration.
- Capacity to work independently.
