About the role#
The Town of Caledon offers a co-op placement for high school students interested in Information Technology. This program provides hands-on work experience to help you meet graduation requirements. You will work directly with our IT staff to support internal operations and technical systems.
What you'll do#
- Support the End User computing team by deploying computers and phones.
- Act as a point of contact for the Helpdesk by receiving, logging, and managing staff calls and emails.
- Escalate unresolved IT issues to the support team.
- Troubleshoot basic technical problems related to computers, mobile phones, printers, and network connectivity.
- Create and update documentation for IT processes.
- Assist with records management and organize training sessions.
- Manage inventory for supplies and equipment.
- Provide logistical and on-site support for special events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time accredited secondary institution and a co-op credit course.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suites and Teams.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational abilities.
- Ability to work in a sensitive environment.
- Your own form of transportation.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based at Town Hall in Caledon, Ontario.
- You may need to travel to other town sites or attend meetings at external locations.
- The work involves physical activity such as lifting up to 15 lbs.
- You may encounter stressful or emotionally charged situations during your duties.
- Successful candidates must pass a criminal record check.
