About the role#
Thomson Reuters is seeking a Practical Law Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports the Capital Markets & Corporate Governance (CMCG) editorial team. The position is full-time, paid, and based on-site in New York, New York. Applicants should have completed their first or second year at an ABA-accredited law school.
What you'll do#
- Research current SEC rules, exchange listing standards, and market practices.
- Draft or update Practical Law content, including practice notes, standard documents, and checklists, under editor supervision.
- Fact-check and cite-check existing resources against primary sources like SEC releases, exchange rules, and case law.
- Track regulatory developments and flag content impacted by new proposals or adoptions.
What you'll need#
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret, analyze, and express complex legal material accurately.
- Impressive command of grammar and punctuation.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience using Westlaw and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
