    About the role#

    Filevine is developing AI-powered tools for the legal industry. This internship involves reviewing and validating data that machine learning systems extract from published legal materials. This role is designed for law students who enjoy the close reading of judicial opinions and are interested in the application of AI within legal practice.

    What you'll do#

    • Read and analyze published judicial opinions across state and federal jurisdictions.
    • Review outputs generated by AI systems and verify their accuracy against source legal materials.
    • Apply legal research training to identify errors, ambiguities, or edge cases in automated outputs.
    • Collaborate with legal researchers and machine learning engineers to improve data quality.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a 2L or 3L at the University of Chicago Law School, Northwestern, or the Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
    • Completion of at least the 1L curriculum, including legal research and writing.
    • Interest in legal technology or AI.
    • Strong attention to detail and familiarity with legal writing.
    • Ability to enjoy reading and analyzing judicial opinions, statutes, and other legal authorities.

    Location & details#

    • This is an on-site, part-time position requiring 10 to 20 hours per week.
    • Locations: Salt Lake City, Utah, or Chicago, Illinois.
    • Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
