About the role#
This is a full-time, six-month internship based in Glendale, California. You will work with the Marvel and Lucasfilm design teams to support the development of toys, collectibles, and souvenirs. You will report to the Product Design Manager and handle individual assignments while learning the product development cycle from concept to production.
What you'll do#
- Research current market trends and competitor products to track industry developments.
- Brainstorm and conceptualize new toy and collectible ideas.
- Build product concept decks and share input during design reviews.
- Create sketches, drawings, and prototypes to visualize new concepts.
- Assist the design team with line reviews, licensee meetings, sample reviews, and executive share-outs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Industrial Design, Toy Design, or Product Design.
- Strong product design skills including sketching, storytelling, and concept creation.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes like plastic molding, textiles, and deco applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and collaborative settings.
- Experience or coursework in Graphic Design, Keynote, PowerPoint, and 3D CAD software.
- A portfolio demonstrating your design work is required for your application.
- Passion for Disney brands, specifically Marvel and Star Wars.
